SIMULATION TEAM TRAINING
Elective course
Learning outcomes:
Cognitive Domain (Knowledge) - Student
1. Lists the basic algorithms for the management of acute conditions (anaphylaxis, shock, ACS, stroke, intoxication, failure of vital functions).
2. Describes the competencies of individual members of the healthcare team (doctor, nurse) in emergency situations.
3. Explains the principles of effective team communication in the context of SBTT (Simulation-Based Team Training).
4. Distinguishes between types of emergencies and their clinical manifestations.
5. Will evaluate the importance of interprofessional cooperation in the provision of healthcare.
Psychomotor Domain (Skills) - Student
1. Performs basic procedural actions: securing IV access, ECG loading, defibrillation, intubation, oxygenation, and ABCDE examination.
2. Applies emergency medicine algorithms in simulated clinical scenarios.
3. Coordinates activities in the team during the simulation of an acute condition.
4. Responds to changes in the patient's clinical status in a simulated environment.
5. Evaluates the effectiveness of team collaboration after simulation using debriefing.
Affective domain (attitudes) - Student
1. Shows respect and a professional attitude towards team members during the simulation.
2. Engages in team discussion and decision-making in stressful situations.
3. Reflects on their own mistakes and learns from them as part of the debriefing.
4. Promotes a culture of patient safety through effective communication.
5. Is aware of the importance of interprofessional learning for clinical practice.
Brief syllabus
Students will complete 7 simulations during the semester, each of which they will complete SCE - simulated clinical experiences using a high fidelity simulator and a team of experts from the Medical Education Support Centre, in which they will be explained the basic principles of management of selected conditions based on the current recommendations of professional societies, they will take over the competencies of a nurse/doctor, who does what, who is responsible for what, they will take over the principles of effective communication in the team, always taking into account the In the current selected acute situation and in the simulation, they will train these procedures together in procedural skills that are not necessary for the management of urgent conditions (provision of IV peripheral and central vein, intraosseous access, ECG loading, defibrillation, intubation, ABDCE examination, oxygenation and ventilation, etc.)
SBTT Anaphylactic Shock
SBTT Acute Coronary Syndrome
SBTT Trauma, Haemorrhage, Shock
SBTT Stroke
SBTT Stimulant Intoxication
SBTT Sudden Cardiac Arrest
