Name of the topic: Metabolic and Infectious Complications after Kidney Transplantation in Patients Receiving Silymarin
Supervisor: doc. MUDr. Matej Vnučák, PhD.

Notes: Objective is to evaluate the incidence of infectious complications (with focus on CMV and BK virus infections) in kidney transplant recipients treated with silymarin compared to controls. To assess the occurrence of metabolic complications (dyslipidemia, glucose disorders, hyperuricemia) in patients receiving silymarin. To explore potential associations between metabolic changes and infectious complications in the silymarin group. Hypotheses: H1: Kidney transplant recipients treated with silymarin have a lower incidence of CMV and BK virus infections compared to controls. H2: Silymarin supplementation is associated with a reduced rate of metabolic complications (dyslipidemia, glucose disorders, hyperuricemia). H3: Improved metabolic profile in the silymarin group correlates with a lower risk of infectious complications.
Name of the topic: Analysis of zero biopsies in the context of renal graft function and survival
Minimal required level of study and topic restriction: The topic is suitable for a 3rd year student or above
