GTSS - Global Tobacco Surveillance System

Global Tobacco Surveillance System - international project supported and coordinated by World Health Organization and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta, USA. The project is focused on monigtoring of tobacco use and related factors as well as indicators of tobacco control activities. Since 2002, when Slovakia joined the project, GYTS (Global Youth Tobacco Survey) surveys in 13-15 years old adolescents have been carried out on regular base. HBSC - Health Behaviour in School-aged Children

Health Behaviour in School-aged Children - international project coordinated by WHO Regional Office for Europe, University of Edinburgh and University of Bergen, Norway, has 30 years old tradition and currently 41 countries participates in it. HBSC ranks among significant epidemiological data sources on health and health behaviour in 11, 13 and 15 years old adolescents.  Data collection is repeated in four years long cycles making possible to follow trends and changes over time. Results of the surveys represent cornerstone resources for experts working in the given field. In Slovakia, HBSC project is coordinated by Department of Health Psychology, Faculty of Medicine, P.J. Šafárik University in Košice (Prof. Mgr. Andrea Madarasová Gecková, principal investigator in Slovakia) The Slovak team developed national reports summarizing findings of the surveys carried out in 2006, 2010 and 2014. ...other information
