Comenius University's 3rd Neurosurgery Days
The 3rd annual professional event - Neurosurgery Days of Comenius University was held in Martin from June 14th to 16th, 2023. Two neurosurgical clinics of Comenius University - from the University Hospital Martin and University Hospital Bratislava co-hosted this monumental event.
The conference started with an online address by Prof. JUDr. Marek Števček, DrSc., the Rector of Comenius University.
The scientific program was divided into medical and nursing sections. The lectures primarily focused on issues pertaining to neuro-oncology, spinal surgery, and pediatric neurosurgery. Experts from various neurosurgical and spinal surgery institutions in Slovakia and the Czech Republic presented their achievements, shared their experiences, and exchanged views.
The Head of the Neurosurgery Clinic of the University Hospital Martin, Prof. MUDr. Branislav Kolarovszki, PhD., MBA, inaugurated the event with a presentation on the clinic. He took the opportunity to commemorate its 30th anniversary celebrated last year. He expounded on the successes achieved and shed light on future challenges waiting to be tackled, be it in the field of spinal surgery, functional neurosurgery, or university neurosurgical care operating on a 24/7 basis.
