Children's Summer University at the Jessenius Faculty of Medicine Celebrates Another Successful Year
The Jessenius Faculty of Medicine in Martin has recently celebrated another successful year of the Martin Summer Children's University, an annual event primarily organized by the children's center, "CVČ Kamarát."
This year, the Children's University saw the graduation of 58 students. Each year the event revolves around a different theme. This year's guiding principle was "Science entertains us and movement is fun," which was reflected in the workshops and activities that the children participated in throughout the week.
The young students had the opportunity to attend several engaging lectures at the faculty. Professor Ingrid Tonhajzerová presented a lecture titled "Our Body in Numbers," which was followed by a practical workshop at the Department of Physiology. Professor Henrieta Hudečková explained to the children why infectious diseases are changing and how they impact us, and Professor Tibor Baška held a discussion on the importance of science.
True to higher education traditions, the Jessenius Faculty of Medicine organized both an opening ceremony and a final graduation event.
