The Medical Education Support Center - history

The Medical Education Support Center JFM CU in Martin was established in May 2012 (previously Simulation Education Center).

In April 2021 the name, structure and mission of the Center were changed.

  Center is located in new building of Library, Information and Simulation center of JFM CU at Novomeského St.

Center was established to reflect newest trends in education in medicine and other health professions. Its role is to gradually implement progressive pedagogic and methodical procedures, technology of simulation and virtual learning with organic connection between theoretic knowledge and clinical environment. The equipment gradually enlarges, it is composed mostly of simulators and models and educational software (including virtual patients). Center closely cooperates with other departments and clinics of JFM CU, as well as with abroad partners.

Center was established with financial support of structural funds of the EU – namely projects “"Podpora rozvoja ľudských zdrojov s využitím najmodernejších postupov a foriem vzdelávania na JLF UK"  of operational programme Education and "Vybudovanie knižnično-informačného, výpočtového a simulačného výučbového centra a modernizácia IKT na JLF UK v Martine"  of operational programme of Research and Development.
