Invitation to a Lecture by Dr. Amina Ann Qutub
The Jessenius Faculty of Medicine CU in Martin, cordially invites you to a lecture by Dr. Amina Ann Qutub, a distinguished international expert from the University of Texas at San Antonio (USA). The lecture will take place on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at 3:45 PM in the Lecture Room of the Theoretical Institutes – Competence Center (Mézeš Institutes).
Lecture Title:
Building AI models to understand brain and stress response
- Understanding the brain's molecular-cellular responses to stress
- Capturing neuronal changes during development via computer vision
- Developing neuro-inspired approaches to AI
- Graph-based modeling of developing neural tissue
- Understanding how the "expert" and "non-expert" brain responds to stress
About the Speaker:
Dr. Amina Qutub is a Professor of Design Engineering and Biomedical Engineering at the University of Texas at San Antonio. Her research focuses on applying artificial intelligence to understand the design of human cells, with the aim of eliminating brain and vascular diseases. She is a pioneer in methods at the intersection of informatics, biology, and engineering. Currently, Dr. Qutub is developing tools that allow individuals with a background in biology to leverage large language models without the need for coding.
