Promoting Wellbeing in the Visegrad Region: Final Conference
On October 10, 2024, the University of Pécs hosted the closing conference, "Promoting the Wellbeing Concept in the Medical and Public Sectors of the Visegrad Region." This hybrid event brought together participants from Slovakia and other countries to discuss the importance of wellbeing in these fields.
Organized in cooperation with Charles University in Prague, Comenius University in Bratislava, and the Medical University of Gdansk, the conference aimed to explore and share knowledge on enhancing personal and professional wellbeing within the medical and public sectors.
The conference drew faculty members, administrators, students, local governments, NGOs, and health organizations. Discussions focused on challenges and solutions in promoting wellbeing, with an emphasis on the mental health of faculty, administrators, and students.
The agenda featured presentations by various partners on implementing mentoring programs at different universities. Participants discussed barriers, positive factors, and successful solutions developed within their institutions. This exchange of perspectives aimed to foster future collaborations, including joint publications and multicenter studies.
In short presentations and posters, participants shared best practices and scientific research on mental wellbeing. This interactive format encouraged valuable discussions among attendees.
The conference was made possible by a Visegrad grant, which supports regional cooperation between the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, and Slovakia. By emphasizing wellbeing, the conference highlighted a crucial aspect of professional life that directly impacts the quality of education and healthcare in the region.
This final conference not only served as a knowledge exchange platform but also opened avenues for further cooperation focused on fostering a culture of wellbeing in the Visegrad region. Opportunities for collaboration and knowledge exchange remain available for those interested in research and practice in the field of wellbeing.
