Over the course of three days, from March 21 to 23, 2024, these dedicated students helped to collect a remarkable total of €12,122.41.

The fundraiser was organized to coincide with the approaching World Hemophilia Day, observed annually on April 17, highlighting the global effort to raise awareness and support for those affected by this and similar conditions. Conducted in shopping centers in Martin and Žilina, the event drew participation from students across various years of study, each contributing to the campaign's overwhelming success.

Among the participants were second-year students Andrej Tabak, Veronika Spodniaková, Sarah Margočová, Marta Kekeláková, Alžbeta Hrubjaková, and Lívia Rošaková; third-year students Simona Baťková, Miriam Meňhertová, Veronika Červencová, Klára Závadská, Bianka Vojteková, and Natália Halečková; and fourth-year students Jana Baťková, Michaela Semivanová, Zuzana Štefančíková, Mária Piskorová, Timea Urbanová, and Nikola Nogová.

Special thanks were also extended to Vanesa Chudjaková, a sixth-year student who played a crucial role in organizing the volunteers for this event.

The funds raised from this charitable endeavor will be utilized to support rehabilitation and educational stays for patients suffering from congenital bleeding disorders. This initiative not only aids those in immediate need but also fosters a greater understanding and empathy towards individuals living with these conditions.

Dr. Tomáš Šimurda, PhD., a member of the National Committee of the Slovak Hemophilia Society and the coordinator of this fundraising campaign in Slovakia, expressed heartfelt gratitude to all the participants and supporters who made this event a resounding success.
