Nursing Clinical Skills Center
Center description
The Centre of Nursing Clinical Skills was established on March 27, 2023 by the Internal Regulation of the Dean of JFM CU in Martin with the intention of creating a common platform for cooperation between the Department of Nursing of JFM CU in Martin and the Department of Nursing Care of University Hospital Martin.
The primary purpose of its establishment was education, implementation of results and outcomes into professional training of nursing students, strengthening of nurses' professionalism, including mentors and nurses in the adaptation process.
The establishment of the centre on faculty campus in collaboration with a health care facility is an example of mutual collaboration and linkage of theory and practice with a focus on education.
The staffing of the Centre of Nursing Clinical Skills will be provided within the existing staff of the Department of Nursing of JFM CU in Martin and nurses currently employed at the University Hospital Martin.
The management of the Clinical Nursing Skills Centre is entrusted to Michaela Miertová, MSN, PhD., RN.
The main objectives of the Nursing Clinical Skills Centre are:
- to link theory and practice in professional training in nursing,
- to create a platform for the education of nursing students in the Bachelor (degree) and Master (degree) of Nursing programmes - especially in the acquisition of theoretical knowledge and practical skills related to the practice of their profession,
- to create a platform for the education of nurses (actually) working at the University Hospital Martin in connection with the implementation of safe nursing clinical practice (deepening of theoretical knowledge, training, harmonisation and unification of procedures in the implementation of nursing interventions at all clinical workplaces of University Hospital Martin, implementation of evidence-based practice),
- to create a safe supportive and modern learning environment with application of multiple teaching styles and modern teaching methods.
