VoIP Telephony

Jessenius Faculty of Medicine  is more than 200 km distant from all other parts and faculties of the Comenius University in Bratislava. Faculty offices are located in Martin in six widely separated locations. Until the introduction of VoIP telephony, paid telecommunications services were used.

After the successful implementation of IT project, there is about 300 hardware VoIP phones in the Faculty. Systems applied are  Alcatel and Grandstream. The system uses SIP server JFMED CU. Very important is the technical support by staff  of UIT. The monitoring and safety -  Ing. Miroslav Borik, the technical installation and operation -  Ing. Miloslav Cutka and Ing. Vladimir Gíreth. System integration is secured by Ing. Peter Cingel. Support services and help desk are provided by CIT CU -  Ing. Ladislav Ivančík. Currently VoIP Telephony  system is used by most staff of  faculty. An interactive VoIP contacts list is developed.
