Our students presented their countries to elementary school students
In honor of the European Day of Languages, celebrated on September 26th, international students from the Jessenius Faculty of Medicine at Comenius University in Martin actively participated in language-related activities.
The event's objective is to motivate people of all ages, whether in schools or beyond, to study foreign languages. This is because linguistic diversity serves as a tool for achieving greater intellectual understanding and is a key element of our rich cultural heritage.
Seven international students from JFMED, led by Doc. RNDr. Michal Šimer, PhD., took part in teaching at the Hurbanova Elementary School. They presented their home countries in English, sharing insights into their countries' geography, cultural peculiarities, traditions, national dishes, and customs.
Additionally, they addressed the students in their native languages. JLF UK boasts a diverse spectrum of students from various parts of the world.
Thanks to the European Day of Languages, they had the opportunity to showcase their homelands, connect with new people, and become more involved in the life of the city beyond their own communities.
The participating students included:
Josephine Isabel (Canada)
Zavhorodnia Iryna (Ukraine)
Kyshtobaeva Aiana (Kyrgyzstan)
Tieber Felix (Austria)
Sayeg Wassim (Germany)
Jóhannsdóttir Helga Björt (Iceland)
Skrøvje Sol Jeanette (Norway)
