The 22nd Annual Nationwide Conference of Psychiatric Nurses
On June 12 and 13, 2023, the Hotel Turiec in Martin hosted the 22nd Annual Nationwide Conference of Nurses Working in Psychiatry. The event, featuring international participation, was jointly organized by the Psychiatric Clinic of the Jessenius Faculty of Medicine CU in Martin and the University Hospital Martin.
The conference was graced by distinguished guests including Iveta Lazorová, President of the Slovak Chamber of Nurses and Midwives, Lukáš Kober, Vice-President of the Slovak Chamber of Nurses and Midwives, Katarína Cádriková, Regional Nurse for the Žilina Self-Governing Region, and representatives from the Department of Modernization of Psychiatric and Psychological Care at the Ministry of Health of the Slovak Republic.
The conference agenda comprised presentations on domestic and international topics centered around multidisciplinary care for individuals with experiences of mental illness. Notably, delegates from the Czech Republic presented on the reform of psychiatric care and its impacts, and introduced the concept of the Mental Rehabilitation Center in Beroun.
The conference showcased the challenges and solutions in modern psychiatric nursing, underlining the importance of international cooperation in the field. It provided a unique platform for healthcare professionals to exchange innovative ideas, experiences, and research, bolstering the future of mental health care in Slovakia and beyond.
